Adlergestell is one of the major arterial roads in south-east Berlin. If you live directly on it, a removal van cannot simply stop there. A side street or a courtyard is usually the better choice. During the on-site survey we check where the lorry is best parked and how far it is to the front door.

Adlershof is home to hundreds of companies and research institutions, many of them young firms that grow quickly and then move into larger premises – often just a few streets away. Adlershof in transition: what newcomers should know

Adlershof is changing fast. Where planes once took off, there is now a large landscape park with meadows and paths, surrounded by residential buildings, institutes and company premises. New streets are being added and construction sites keep shifting. Some navigation systems do not yet know certain addresses. So, for new builds, tell us exactly where the entrance is and how to get there by vehicle.

Well connected by S-Bahn

Adlershof S-Bahn station connects the area with the city centre and BER airport. Many people who move here commute on to other districts. For moving day, we recommend that one person stays at the old address until the lorry is loaded and a second person unlocks the new flat.

Moving to Adlershof with children

The new quarters are popular with families. If you are moving with children, we set up the children’s rooms and beds first. We also transport bicycles, prams and play equipment if they have been gathered together beforehand.

Adlershof, Johannisthal and Altglienicke: moves in south-east Berlin

Adlershof borders Johannisthal, Altglienicke, Grünau and Köpenick. Many of the moves we carry out here stay in the south-east: from an old building in Schöneweide to a new build on the campus, from a flat in Johannisthal to a terraced house in Altglienicke, or from a detached house in Grünau to a smaller flat with a lift. The distances are short, but the addresses are very different.

Housing estates and detached houses

To the south and east of the village centre there are estates with detached and semi-detached houses. There is usually enough space in front of the door, but the cellar, garage and garden add to the job. The natural science institutes of Humboldt University have their campus in Adlershof. Anyone studying or doing a doctorate here often moves into a hall of residence or a shared flat nearby. Especially when changing jobs or taking up a new position at an institute, the start date is often fixed, while the flat is only confirmed at short notice. Get in touch with us anyway. After the move

Within two weeks of moving in, you register at the Bürgeramt. Anyone coming from abroad for a job in the Adlershof science park may need additional documents. On request we take empty boxes away with us, and we hand over the old flat swept clean.

Typical mistakes when moving into a new build

In new residential complexes, the effort is often underestimated because there is a lift. But if the lift has not been reserved, the underground car park is too low or the entrance is at the back, the move can quickly take hours longer. Clarify these points early and the day will run calmly.
