Are you planning a move in Friedrichshain and looking for a local moving company that works efficiently, considerately and transparently? A comfortable move in Friedrichshain – personally organised
Individual on-site advice
To make sure your move runs smoothly, we start with a personal on-site survey or a detailed conversation. We clarify particular features such as narrow stairs, use of the lift and hard-to-reach spots. This results in realistic proposals tailored to your situation.
Careful handling of your furniture
We treat fragile furniture, pictures and electronics with special attention. We discuss which packing materials make sense, how heavy or bulky items will be carried and which measures are needed for safe transport. Your belongings are in good hands with us.
Our service process
- Initial contact and needs assessment
- On-site survey and agreement on services
- Scheduling and logistics planning
- Careful packing, loading and transport
- Assembly, unpacking and final check

Flexible services as needed
Every move is different: some people only want help with transport, others prefer a complete package with packing and assembly. You choose the building blocks that suit your plans. This keeps the process transparent and saves you unnecessary tasks.
Moving company Berlin Friedrichshain – Boxhagener Kiez, Karl-Marx-Allee and the Spree riverside
Friedrichshain combines three worlds: the period buildings in the Boxhagener Kiez and the Samariterviertel, the monumental residential blocks on Karl-Marx-Allee and the new residential and office towers along the Spree. In between are prefab blocks, back courtyards and lots of street life. A move in Friedrichshain is often short in distance but demanding in execution.
Period buildings in the Kiez
Around Boxhagener Platz, Simon-Dach-Straße and Rigaer Straße, many people live in period buildings with side wings. Lifts are rare, the stairs wind and the courtyards are narrow. We dismantle large furniture, carry it in parts and plan the route through the courtyard. On Boxhagener Platz there is a weekly market on Saturdays and a flea market on Sundays – on these days there is especially little room around the square for a removal van.
Karl-Marx-Allee and prefab blocks
The large residential buildings on Karl-Marx-Allee and the prefab blocks in the adjacent streets have different conditions: long corridors, some lifts, large communities of residents. Here we clarify use of the lift with the management and protect corridors and doors. The wide central strip of the avenue does not always help with parking – a no-parking zone directly in front of the entrance is usually the safer solution.
New builds on the Spree
Between Ostbahnhof and Warschauer Straße, many new buildings have gone up in recent years. They have lifts and wide corridors, but also strict house rules, underground car parks with low clearance and sometimes a concierge. We register the move in advance and keep to the specified times.

Costs and money-saving tips
The costs depend on volume, floors and carrying distances. A move from the fourth floor of a rear building needs more people than one with a lift. You can save by decluttering beforehand, packing boxes yourself and choosing a weekday instead of a Saturday. For small flats, a mini move may be enough – quick, compact and with a smaller vehicle.
A note about the bridges: if you are moving across the Oberbaumbrücke or the Elsenbrücke to Kreuzberg or Treptow, expect traffic jams at peak times. We are therefore happy to plan the journey outside rush hour.
As a moving company in Berlin Friedrichshain, we also work in Kreuzberg and Lichtenberg. Guide prices can be found on the page Moving Company Berlin Costs.
Friedrichshain in transition – what it means for your move
Friedrichshain is one of the districts where residents change particularly quickly. Many people move here for university, training or their first job, stay a few years and then move on. As a result, demand for moves is high and the conditions in the buildings are constantly changing. Renovated period buildings with a new lift stand next to unrenovated houses with stove heating, and new builds with underground car parks next to prefab blocks from the seventies.
Samariterkiez and Nordkiez
In the Samariterkiez and the Nordkiez around Rigaer Straße, the streets are narrow, the buildings tall and the pavements often blocked by bicycles, bins and building sites. There is little room left for the removal van. We almost always apply for a no-parking zone there and check beforehand whether scaffolding or skips make access difficult. Sometimes it is better to take a smaller van and drive twice than to block half the street with a large lorry.
Around Ostkreuz and Rummelsburg
Around Ostkreuz station and towards Rummelsburg, many new flats have been built in recent years. These buildings have lifts, wide corridors and clear rules for moves. The move often has to be registered with the property management, and the lift is lined with protective mats. In some buildings there are fixed time slots during which moves are allowed. We follow these requirements and bring the necessary protection.
Shared flats and shared households
In Friedrichshain, many people live in shared flats. When one person moves out, the rest of the flatshare stays in the flat. It is then important not to take anything that belongs to the flatmates when clearing out and not to block the shared rooms. Mark your belongings clearly and agree with your flatmates when the move will take place. For smaller moves out of a flatshare, a mini move is often the cheaper option.
Period buildings with stove heating
Some unrenovated buildings still have tiled stoves or coal cellars. Tiled stoves of course stay in the flat, but you should remove any coal residue from the cellar before moving out. Coal boxes and old buckets do not belong in the removal van but should be disposed of. Landlords also pay attention to such details at the handover.
Anyone moving from Friedrichshain to another district usually drives via Frankfurter Allee, Warschauer Straße or Stralauer Allee. All three routes are busy during the day. An early start in the morning noticeably shortens the journey time and ensures that assembly in the new flat begins while it is still light.
Boxhagener Platz at the weekend
Around Boxhagener Platz there is a weekly market on Saturdays and a flea market on Sundays. On these days the surrounding streets are full of stalls, visitors and delivery vehicles. A move in Grünberger, Krossener or Gärtnerstraße is then considerably more complicated. If your date is flexible, choose a weekday instead. If that is not possible, we start very early, before the market is set up, and arrange the no-parking zone so that it does not disrupt the market.
The many late-night shops (Spätis), bars and clubs in the Kiez also bring life to the streets at night. The morning after, bicycles, scooters or glass bottles are sometimes in the way. Our team briefly clears the zone before loading so that nobody trips.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
How do we schedule the moving date?
After your enquiry, we suggest suitable dates for an on-site survey or a consultation. Based on this, you receive a written quote with the agreed services so that you can plan the next steps.
How do you deal with special or bulky items?
Bulky or fragile items are assessed on site. Together we find the best solution for packing, transport and assembly – if necessary with special equipment or aids so that everything arrives safely.
How much does a move in Berlin-Friedrichshain cost?
In the Boxhagener Kiez and the Samariterkiez, it is mostly period buildings with lots of stairs; on Karl-Marx-Allee, large flats with lifts. Costs arise from volume, floor and additional services. An overview is provided under Moving Company Berlin Costs.
Do I need a no-parking zone in Friedrichshain?
Yes, around Boxhagener Platz and Simon-Dach-Straße there is hardly any space during the day. On Karl-Marx-Allee the wide parking strip helps, but a zone still makes sense. We apply for it – more under Parking Restriction Berlin.
How early should I book my move in Friedrichshain?
For Friedrichshain, allow four to eight weeks. Where possible, we avoid Saturdays with the market on Boxhagener Platz. During the week, short-notice dates are often feasible.
How are my belongings insured during a move in Friedrichshain?
Under the German Commercial Code (HGB), removal companies are usually liable for 620 euros per cubic metre of loading space. For expensive technology or art, we recommend additional transport insurance.
